Sullivan Celebration

Sulorns_wht
2006 marks the 150th Birthday of Louis Sullivan and Chicago is celebrating in style! There are many events planned by institutions across the city and you can check out the official anniversary website for all the details.

It's an important event and we wanted to do our part to recognize Frank Lloyd Wright's "lieber meister." What better way to honor the master of integral architectural ornamentation, than with some ornaments of our own! We've developed three exquisitely detailed wooden holiday ornaments based on famous Louis Sullivan designed landmarks. Two of the designs were once located in the tragically lost Chicago Stock Exchange, and the third was designed for the Schlesinger & Mayer Store (now known as the Carson Pirie Scott & Co store...at least for a little while longer.)

Each comes packaged with a golden hanging looped cord and design story information. It's sure to be the perfect gift for any architecture or design buff. You can purchase these ornaments and other Prairie Arts products at the following places:

The Art Institute of Chicago

Chicago Architecture Foundation

The Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust

Oak Park Visitors Center

Fair Oak Workshops

For more product information, check out the ornament link and join the celebration!
